When he left for Borussia Dortmund in 2020, Birmingham City retired his number 22 shirt. The club said the decision was made to honour one of their own and inspire future academy players.
It was an extraordinary gesture for a player who was only 17 years old at the time.

In 2026, he invested in Birmingham Phoenix and spoke about wanting to give something back to his hometown and help create opportunities for young people through sport.
That attitude has only strengthened the bond between Bellingham and the city where his football journey began.
